Iowa Woman Changes Her Mind
Over the past year or so Julee has written several emails to me, and most of them were not to harmonize with me or the business. Julee expressed several times that she thought I was violent, and not only that, I promoted violence.
Nothing could be further from the truth, but Julee kept sending her diatribes on a fairly regular basis, trying to get me to change. I never answered any of her emails because she has never purchased anything from Safety Technology, and spending any time with, or on critics is a waste of time.
Last Thursday I got another letter from Julee, and I was going to delete it, but some voice said no, so I opened it.
Whoa Nellie!
I could hardly believe what I was reading.
It was an apology for all the other emails, and she stated very eloquently that I was right, and she had been wrong. A close friend of hers had been attacked and beaten the previous week, and was still in the hospital when she wrote. She faced the possibility of weeks in the hospital, and hopefully there won’t be any permanent damage. As her friend lay in the hospital bed she said, “If only I had something to defend myself with.”
Julee said that hit her like a two by four between the shoulder blades. She ordered up some Mace Pepper Gel that afternoon, and after consulting with her husband over the weekend placed an order for three other products.
It shouldn’t have to happen this way, but it does more often than I would like. Some folks just don’t believe until the evidence is staring them straight in the face. In this case it’s a friend, but it can happen to anyone, family, friend, co-worker, or casual acquaintance, not to mention those we have no immediate connection to.
Julee mentioned that she would be carrying protection from now on, not just buying and leaving it in a drawer. That is key. Carrying a stun gun, or pepper spray, or a steel baton should be just like putting your wallet in your back pocket, or your keys in your front pocket. I never go anywhere without patting myself to make sure I have something on me at all times.
That means even to go to a convenience store to get a coffee, or soda. That means even to go to a doctors office, or the post office. I carry everywhere except for that check in in airports, but I pack items in a suit case so I can retrieve them immediately when I land.
I sent Julee a nice reply, now that she is a member of the family.
But don’t wait, don’t hesitate, don’t let a friend get severely beaten before you act. Act now, protect yourself now, and avoid that kind of situation.
You may only need to be protected once in your lifetime, but wouldn’t you rather be more ready than not?
Julee’s friend may have walked away unharmed if she had Mace Pepper Gel with her when the mooks struck. She could have been standing there and listening to the mooks howl at the moon after they had been doused, instead of lying in a hospital bed.
If you’re prepared, you’ll never be surprised,
Michael Gravette

Wished it hadn’t been her friend getting hurt to change her mind….but glad she wised up, now maybe she can protect herself.
