Back in 1995 when Watson was protesting the Canadian seal hunt he was attacked by 30 drunken sealers who kicked in his hotel room door.

“They were all standing there ready to attack me and all I could think of was: ‘I’m not going to give in to these guys.’ One of them came at me and punched me in the side of the head, so I took him down with a stun gun. Lester Robert Evans, 68, was arrested after LAPD investigators said they found evidence in his skid row apartment that helped tie him to a December boutique robbery. In that crime, Evans was captured on video shocking the young clerk with a stun gun, said LAPD Lt. Paul Vernon.

“We had a feeling this guy would surface eventually,” Vernon said. “It just turns out he decided to rob a bank where he had his own account.”

Police were called Tuesday to the Bank of the West branch at 2nd and San Pedro streets in downtown L.A. after it was robbed by “a white man in his 60s,” authorities said. Within minutes, officers had come up with the name of Evans, a local man who was on parole for bank robbery.

Detectives verified Evans was on parole and went to his apartment in the 400 block of East 7th Street on skid row. Detectives searched the apartment and seized evidence that linked the parolee to the bank robbery, as well as the boutique robbery, police said. Evans was booked for the bank robbery and held without bail for a parole violation.

The lesson here is never rob the bank where you have an account, go there regularly to cash your Social Security check, people know you and have your address on file.

There’s  a serial rapist on the loose in Yoakum, TX and  Cassandra McGinty has a new sequence when she arrives home: search room to room, with a stun gun in her hand.

The rapist has been attacking older women in central Texas during the past year, terrifying residents and frustrating the police who don’t have a good description to go on.

Pepper spray has been selling like hotcakes in the towns where the attacks have occurred, and McGinty said her landlord in Marquez handed out stun guns as Christmas gifts.

Beginning with the rape of a 65-year-old woman in Yoakum in January 2009, authorities have linked eight sexual assaults or attempted sexual assaults to the suspect.
