Birthday Dinner at Morton’s
I turned 60 on May 5th and had dinner at the local Morton’s that evening with some friends.
I’m a regular at Morton’s and have a good relationship with the manager, Pete, and the staff. Pete had asked if I wanted them to make me a cake for my birthday. I thought about it and told him that I didn’t want a cake, but I would like the au gratin potatoes that Ruth’s Chris has. Morton’s has many good side items, but they don’t have au gratin potatoes. I love au gratin potatoes!
Pete said OK and at my birthday dinner there was enough au gratin potatoes for everyone.
Now, it was mighty nice of Pete to do this for me. But, it also shows the power of asking. Sometimes, you need to ask for something that doesn’t really seem very likely. It’s good for the soul. It’s a nice surprise when you get what you ask for. But, you need to ask. Most people don’t.

Prosperity does a body good, and as a Buddhist i’m a firm believer that what good actions you send out into the universe will return the benefit back to you. You’ve obviosly done a lot of good. Funny story for yeah, Austin who you met at dinner is doing a school project on the trip to Florida we did last month. He was supposed to bring a food dish that he had in Florida and present it to the class along with all the photos taken. He asked if we could make a meal like the one we had at Morton’s. Tell Pete he’s gonna have about 30 kids in Washington bugging there parents to go to Florida to try dinner at Morton’s after this presentation.
