Be safe! And get pepper spray!
Below is an email I received from a person that had good cause to use her pepper spray. Thankfully, she was carrying it.
On Sunday night, I was at Super Target on Roosevelt Boulevard. I was getting into my car at about 8 p.m. when a man attacked me and tried to force himself and me into the car. I had loaded my items, returned the cart, and upon getting into my car, I saw the reflection of the man running at the car in my side mirror. I tried to slam the door shut but it was too late.
He jumped in the car and was sitting on the driver’s seat with me, pushing me, pulling my hair, and shouting at me to move over. I fought back as hard as I could – yelling, shoving him out, honking the horn, trying to key him in the eye, and luckily I had pepper spray on my keychain that I sprayed at him. The guy eventually got back out of the car and took off running. He got in a truck with another guy and they sped away. I was in a well-lit spot in the parking lot – just 3 or 4 spots from the entrance to Target. Despite my honking and yelling, no one came to help.
Thank God that I am fine – just a few bumps and bruises, and I managed to get away, but I hate the thought that somebody else would not be that lucky. This guy is still out there, and I’m sure he’s not the only crazy that would do something like he did. Please be careful and please be aware! Don’t ever think you’re being overly cautious. Had I been less aware, this guy may have accomplished what he intended to do, and I don’t even want to think of the possibilities. We hear of this stuff happening, and I know I sort of had the attitude that, yes, it happens, but it won’t happen to me. I learned the hard way that it can happen to anyone in any place – there are some terrible people out there.

This is a great story and certainly one that I will share with my customers. I wish some of my customers would share some of their real life “self defense in action” stories with me, because it’s a great testimonial to the value of these products.

Thanks for sharing Elizabeth’s e-mail. I too will share it with my customers. It is a shame we cannot get the media to run stories like this to promote people who take action and stand up for them selves.
Thanks again,
Roger

I just read another article on regarding a bear attack on a woman cycling in Alaska. This seems to be happening so often lately. Bears are losing their habitat, looking for food and are coming into inhabited areas. This is a serious situation for those that enjoy the outdoors. People just seem to ignore the fact that animals might harm them. Get Bear Spray and protect yourself. http://WWW.YOUBSAFE.COM

This is just one example of what happens on a daily basis. Unfortunately, many people dont believe that they will be the next victim. As the economy shrinks, this type of thing happens more frequently. DONT be the next victim.

I talked to a lady about getting a stun gun or some form of protection and she came out with the standard, “It won’t happen to me around here.”
Regrettably shortly thereafter I heard that she was attacked in a grocery store lot.
It never hurts to be prepared!

You never know what can and will happen you need to be prepared 100% al of the time. Walk to your car from the store or the mall and you scan your surroundings looking for anything not right. You put your hands on your pepper spray or stun gun and be ready. Because you never know when it will happen but you will be prepared. It gives you an overwhelming sense of control when you have your protection and you put your hand on it.

I’m a nurse who works at night. i have to park in a big parking lot and when i leave work it’s usually very late about midnight. i always have my keys ready, I scan the lot for suspicious vehicles, I look in the cars adjacent to mine to see if anyone’s lying down, I even look under the car. i plan to buy some pepper spray and a stun gun for protection. I live in a small town and it’s usually quiet as far as crime goes but with the economy the way it is, people are getting desparate. criminals are “migrating” into the area now especially the malls. I’ve become more vigilant. Changing up my routine coming and going from home to work. As a female who lives alone, this is crucial.

She was prepared. How many times do we hear of people who did not have pepper spray on them?

A lot of good comments already….so what to say? Pepper spray is an invaluable self defense item, buy some and be prepared folks! Assaults can happen anywhere any time of the day…this is proof of it.

This type of situation could have been much worse. Any means of defense such as pepper spray, stun gun, etc. provides more protection than a face-to-face combat.

Since I’ve become a distributor, I’ve become even more vigilant about my own personal safety. I’ve been doing free Personal Safety Workshops for women in my community teaching safety awareness, displaying products with instructions on how to use them and basic self-defense techniques with the help of my friend Changa who is an expert in martial arts. I recently rec’d a call from a woman who attended a workshop in November and was very skeptical and hesitant about buying pepper spray, She was afraid that she might end up panicking and spray herself instead. But she relented and bought a 1/2 oz WildFire 18% keychain. In March, she was dropping her 77-yr-old father off at his apartment in North Philadelphia when 4 thugs approached them and demanded her dad’s wallet. He refused and they began pounding him to the ground. She said she was frozen in fear but then remembered she had the pepper spray in her car. She ran to the car to fetch it and was quickly followed by one of the thugs. She grabbed it just in time to spray him in the face! She said he went down like a cockroach screaming and rolling on the ground! She ran over to her where her father was being attacked and sprayed the other 3 thugs and they too scxreamed like little girls on the ground, except one of them managed to get up and run away like a coward. She grabbed her father and locked themselves in the car and called the police. She said the police didn’t even have to chase them because they couldn’t see to run away!. She called me to tell me that pepper spray really does works and that she’ll be sending me referrals. I have asked her to come and speak at my next workshop in May. Crime in Philadelphia is really bad and home invasions are up. I to market my products by canvassing those areas recently hit by a crime in the news. While that neighborhood is stilll reeling from the criminal activity, I swoop in the very next day and start handing putting up flyers promoting products specific to the crime. There is a rapist at large now for two years targeting women who run in Fairmount Park. While police are out there handing out composite sketches of him to female runners, I’m handing out flyers promoting Hot Walkers to the same women. I’ve recently started getting calls and inquiries. Hopefully with a little more creativity and determination I’ll have a profitable summer.

I always recommend to my customers who buy pepper spray, that they get a multi pack for the home, car and keychain. Clipped to the visor is one of the best places to keep a can of pepper spray.
