Good for her! I think it's great when citizens help out the police like this. She didn't just stand there like the others, she took action....and helped the cop get the bad guy.

You really have to give a round of applause for a bystander to step up and help out like this. The outcome could have been way different if she had not helped the officer and maybe a child might be without a Dad. I feel all people should have some form of non-lethal personal protection. Good for her thank God for Good Samaritans.

Great story! Maybe after stunning him, a couple of whacks with an expandable steel baton
expandable steel baton would have been in order

Mike,
I love hearing stuff like this. As a former police officer in Houston, I can easily attest to the successful use of muscle disruption technology (tasers, stun guns, etc.). Not only from a law enforcement perspective but from a civilian one as well. It is just another notch in the perverbial belt of how these and other weapons in the hands of the police and law abiding citizens are only a danger to those that are a danger to the rest of us. Good for her. God Bless.

While some people may not believe they would ever have a need for a stun gun, or other defensive product for that matter, this story just goes to show that you may find yourself in a position that you are not worried for yourself but for someone else.

Ms. Cross may very well have saved this officer's life and possibily the lives of innocent bystanders! Had the attacker been able to get the officer's gun...the results could have been horrific.

As the saying goes, "It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!"

I love to hear these reports of citizens taking responsibility to arm themselves with personal self defence weapons . When we do so , we can also come to the aid of anyone . It could , as we see , can be a matter of life or death . The stun gun is a great self defence weapon . I just pray that the legislators in NEW YORK some day have this view . If this incident had happened in NY it may have ended in a tragedy.

It would be great if more people would get involved and do the right things like Tanisha Cross. Maybe if more people had a stun gun, they would.

Great Story Mike. Further proof for the need of self defense products especially in today's economy. We all need that comfort of security.

It's sometimes hard to find stories where people actually went out of their way to help someone in danger. It is really nice to see there is good in this world.

I've noticed so many situations where people didn't help simply because they didn't think they could. This woman from Atlanta is awesome! A real hero.
